Training on sesame and cashew agronomy in coastal Kenya

Zbyněk Polesný, the TRIBE team leader, trained the agricultural field officers in Kilifi (Kenya) on sesame and cashew cultivation within the project Enhancement of livelihoods in the Kenyan Coastal Region by supporting Organic and Fair Trade certification of smallholders supported by Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation. The project at CZU is coordinated by Jiří Hejkrlík, the member of the Department of Economics and Development. The training took place on 11th and 13th March 2019 and consisted of theoretical lectures on sesame and cashew agronomy including agroecological approaches in organic production as well as practicals on crop management of cashew trees in established orchards. We are thankful to all participants as well as all colleagues from Tensenses Africa who helped with training organization for the great cooperation.
