Applications will be accepted until July 15 for the Manuel Gomes Guerreiro Prize which will recognize a published work, book or doctoral thesis which has contributed to scientific development in one of the fields of study of the University of Algarve.
Prize: This annual award of 10,000 euro is organized by the University of Algarve with the support of the City Councils of Loulé and Faro. It recognizes the best academic work in one of the following fields: Arts, Communication and Heritage; Social and Educational Sciences; Health Sciences and Technology; Exact and Natural Sciences; Economics, Management and Tourism; or Engineering and Technology.
Candidates: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, and special consideration will be given to encouraging young researchers. There is a limit of one submission per candidate per year and it must have been published during the year of the prize or that immediately preceding. The work cannot have previously won any awards. Doctoral theses can be submitted upon completion. Submissions must be written either in Portuguese or English.
Application Process: Candidates must submit the application form available here and deliver it directly to the UAlg Expediente Geral, at the Penha Campus, or send it by registered letter. The deadline is July 15, 2019. The application must be accompanied by three complete copies of the paper, one hard copy and two digital ones. (See Contest Rules and Regulations here)
