The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTA) of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (CULS) has long been collaborating in science, research and pedagogy with many Latin American countries including Bolivia. Collaboration with Universidad Nacional Siglo XX (UNS XX), which is located in Llallagua, Bolivia, is focused on research of Andean crops and medicinal plants. The Mobility Project (ERASMUS +) has helped to intensify cooperation with the UNS XX, which was the main objective of mobility. The project was attended by one teacher and one PhD student from the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, who stayed in Bolivia for three months. During the stay, the teacher lectured in teaching programs and PhD student actively participated in the study programs at UNS XX. From the UNS XX, two teachers came to the Czech Republic and they obtained practical experience in the laboratory of plant tissue cultures of the FTA CULS for one month.
Apart of pedagogy, a research was carried out on Andean crops and medicinal plants, and the result of this collaboration is a joint scientific publication in a journal with impact factor. Other collaborations have been established, involving other universities from Bolivia. Most of Bolivia's population is concentrated in the Andean region and is dependent on the original Andean crops as the main source of food. Beginning research in this area will be helpful and can have a practical impact on the region's population. Mobility has brought valuable experience for all involved, which is transmited to students, teachers, researcher in teaching programs, seminars and other activities.
