International Credit Mobility: cooperation between Czech Republic and South Africa

The International Credit Mobility Project supports the mobilities of students and teaching staff amongst the project partners in the Czech Republic and South Africa. The main project partners are the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU), the University of Pretoria (UP), and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). The objective of these mobilities is focused on the exchange of teaching staff and Ph.D. students between these two partner institutions.

Duration of the Project: 2022-2025

Why apply?

Participants will be provided with the opportunity to expand their professional network, skills, and research while young scientists will be exposed to different research teams, research techniques and data collection areas which may aid in the completion of their postgraduate degrees. The students will not only be able to develop their research skills but also establish new contacts for future collaborations and research possibilities as young scientists.

Available mobilities:

Staff mobilities (approx. 2 weeks) are available:

  • 1 staff from CZU visiting UP
  • 2 staff from UP visiting CZU
  • 1 staff from CZU visiting TUT
  • 1 staff from TUT visiting CZU

 

Student practical internships (2 months) are available in the following areas:

  • Wildlife Management, Livestock Production, and Mammal Endocrinology:
    • 1 student from CZU visiting UP
    • 1 student from UP visiting CZU
  • Ethnobotany, Ethnopharmacology, and Postharvest Crop Processing:
    • 2 students from CZU visiting TUT
    • 1 student from TUT visiting CZU

Application procedure:

Keep an eye out for the announcements on the webpages and social media of FTA for the relevant study semesters. Interested candidates should prepare:

  • Motivation letter (in English)
  • CV (in Europass format)
  • Transcript of study records (students only)
  • Mobility plan (plan of activities)

Successful applicants should also familiarize themselves with the necessary visa requirements for their travel purposes.

Scholarships:

Students and staff will receive a travel scholarship (1500 EUR) as well as a subsistence scholarship for the duration of their stay for accommodation and per diem expenses. A limited number of additional scholarships are available students and staff with fewer opportunities, as defined by the institutional agreement.
