It is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in the V International AGROFORUM MARE BALTICUM – Agriculture for Rural Development, which will take place on April 18-20 2017 in Tartu, Estonia. The event will end with the opening of the XXV International Agricultural Exhibition Maamess 2017. The aim of the Agroforum is to unite the efforts of ministers of agriculture, senior officials, managers of agricultural universities, and agricultural association leaders of the Baltic Sea region and China, Moldova, the Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in order to develop potential cooperation on political, administrative, research and development and entrepreneurial level. Keynote speakers will be from the FAO, the European Commission, the OECD and the Agricultural Ministry of China, as a special guest. The topics to be discussed at parallel sessions are the following:
- Agriculture as one of the basis for rural development;
- Agricultural subsidies and support measures;
- Animal husbandry in rural development and environmental protection;
- Risk management in rural sector.

Conference is free of charge; however, participants are expected to pre-register and to cover their own travel and accommodation costs. Forum catering, transportation within Estonia and free access to the Agricultural Exhibition Maamess 2017 will be offered by the organisers.
