Improved Course at FTZ: Sustainable Biotechnology and Environmental Protection

The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences is introducing the updated course Sustainable Biotechnology and Environmental Protection for master students, which explores how modern biotechnological solutions can help protect, restore, and sustainably manage the environment. The course focuses on waste minimisation, detoxification, resource recovery, and the transformation of waste into valuable raw materials within circular bioeconomy systems.

Students gain insight into real-world applications of environmental biotechnology, the role of policy and regulation, and the links between technology, sustainability, and environmental protection. The course equips students with practical and analytical skills needed to address today’s environmental challenges through innovative, bio-based solutions.

In addition, part of this course is also linked with new book "Sustainable Biotechnology and Environmental Protection: A Four-pronged Strategy" published by Springer.
