Programme for Affiliated Researchers at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague

Introductory provisions

The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ) of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) recognises the importance of international cooperation and the promotion of scientific exchange at national and international level.

This Dean's Regulation is applicable to the FTZ and regulates the Affiliated Researchers Programme (hereinafter referred to as 'the Programme') with the aim of enabling non-affiliated researchers from other universities, organisations and companies to cooperate with the FTZ in research, education and other academic activities.

The Programme contributes to the development of the professional skills of affiliated researchers and enhances the international prestige of FTZ.

Terms and conditions of affiliation

Participation in the programme is open to researchers who are not employees of the FTZ and who are interested in affiliating with the FTZ.

A person may be an affiliated researcher under the programme:

1. from the academic sphere of other universities,
2. from research institutes,
3. from the business sector,
4. NGOs,
5. an expert without further affiliation.

Participation in the programme is possible on the basis of the approval of the Dean of the FTZ for a fixed period, maximum 3 years, with the possibility of renewal.

Application procedure for affiliation

Anyone interested in joining the programme shall submit a written application to the Science and Research Department of the FTZ via email: phdandresearch@ftz.czu.cz.

The application must include:

1. a professional CV,
2. a motivation letter stating the reasons for affiliation and planned activities,
3. recommendations from two experts in the field.

The decision to approve the affiliation is made by the Dean of FTZ on the basis of the recommendation of the Vice-Dean for Science, Research and Doctoral Studies.

Rights and obligations of affiliated researchers

An affiliated researcher participating in the programme has the possibility to:

1. use the FTZ infrastructure for research and educational activities,
2. participate in FTZ research projects and grants,
3. present their status as an FTZ affiliated researcher in scientific publications and at conferences,
4. propose collaborations with FTZ academic staff.
5. An affiliated researcher involved in the programme is obliged to:
6. comply with the ethical standards and internal regulations of FTZ and CZU,
7. regularly inform the faculty about his/her scientific activities related to the affiliation,
8. publish the FTZ affiliation in all scientific publications and other outputs related to the collaboration,

Termination of affiliation

The affiliated researcher's involvement in the programme may be terminated:

1. the expiry of the period for which the affiliation was approved by the Dean,
2. at the request of the affiliated researcher,
3. by decision of the Dean.
