The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ) at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague is expanding its international collaboration by welcoming new experts through its Affiliated Researchers programme. The faculty is establishing cooperation with two international researchers; one of them is Prof. Dr. Hassan El Bari, a recognised expert in waste management, bioenergy and circular economy.
Prof. Hassan El Bari is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Sciences, Ibn Tofail University in Kénitra, Morocco, where he has been active in teaching and research since 1988. His work focuses on sustainable waste management solutions, particularly on transforming organic waste into energy through biogas and related bioenergy technologies. His research contributes to the development of sustainable energy systems and supports practical solutions applicable in developing countries.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in numerous international projects as both coordinator and partner, combining academic research with practical application and policy engagement. He currently serves as President of the Moroccan Association of Solid Waste and collaborates with international institutions, including the European Commission, where he contributes as an expert evaluator.
In addition to his research activities, Prof. El Bari has extensive teaching experience in waste management, biomass and bioenergy, and anaerobic digestion technologies. He has also contributed to postgraduate education, including coordinating the Master’s programme in Waste Management and Recovery. He is actively engaged in the scientific community as an Associate Editor of the journal Cleaner Waste Systems (Elsevier) and as an editor and author of numerous scientific publications and books.
As part of the Affiliated Researchers programme, Prof. El Bari will collaborate with FTZ on joint research projects and publications, participate in academic activities, and contribute to the further development of international scientific cooperation.
“We highly appreciate his academic profile and the clear potential for collaboration with our research teams. We believe his expertise will significantly strengthen our scientific environment and expand our international network,” said the Dean of FTZ, Assoc. Prof. Hynek Roubík.
The affiliation of Prof. El Bari represents another step in strengthening FTZ’s international dimension and advancing research addressing global sustainability challenges.
