The BioResources and Technology (BRT) team at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, CZU, is proud to announce the release of a new academic publication!
Dr. Yelizaveta Chernysh, postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Viktoriia Chubur, head of the BRT lab, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hynek Roubík, Director of the BRT team, have published a new book in the renowned Green Energy and Technology (GREEN) series by Springer.
Sustainable Biotechnology and Environmental Protection: A Four-Pronged Strategy outlines a comprehensive approach to tackling environmental challenges through biotechnology. It focuses on:
- minimizing waste at its source,
- reducing toxicity to protect ecosystems and human health,
- improving waste treatment efficiency, and
- turning waste into valuable resources – thus promoting the circular bioeconomy.
This book explores the critical role of biotechnology in addressing today’s most pressing environmental challenges. It highlights the potential of biotechnological innovations in urban development and environmental protection, while also examining the impact of policy and regulatory frameworks that can either support or hinder these efforts.
The publication provides a holistic view of how biotechnology, when paired with thoughtful governance and strategic implementation, can contribute to a safer and more sustainable future.
