On Wednesday the 7th of December there was the fourth International Fair Party at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences organized by the student organization BeFair.
In the first part we have listened to the introduction of doc. Ing. Jan Banout PhD., the Dean of Faculty, then speeches by Ms. Manal from the Embassy of the Syria in Prague, Hana Chorváthová of Fair Trade Czech Republic and Slovakia, Veronika Uhlířová from GLEN project (Global Education Network of Young Europeans), Ing. Ingrid Melnikovová PhD., representative of International Department of FTA and Vojtěch Marek, representative of the BeFair organization.
This year’s program was prepared by three countries: Syria, Cambodia and Myanmar. We were pleased with the high number of visitors. The program included tasting of traditional dishes, country presentations and show of national dances and songs. As it is usual for events held by BeFair, also here we had a lot of fair trade refreshments and coffee. The event was also attended by the Derbianus Conservation organization, which has been for many years engaged in the protection of the endangered Derby eland.
