Prince of Songkla University (PSU) and Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) have agreed to launch a joint Double Degree (DD) Master’s program in English under the shared title “Agricultural Development - International Development and Agricultural Economics.” The primary goal of this program is to provide students with the opportunity to benefit from the diverse academic and research expertise of both institutions in the field of tropical agriculture.
In addition to the existing study programs "Agricultural Development" at PSU and "International Development and Agricultural Economics" at CZU, the new Double Degree program will offer students several key advantages:
- A broader selection of modules related to tropical agriculture
- The development of soft skills in diverse academic and cultural environments
- Supervision by two advisors from different universities for scientific research
Last week, representatives from the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ) visited Prince of Songkla University (PSU) in Thailand to finalize the cooperation agreement, which is a key document for launching the new Double Degree program. During the visit to Prince of Songkla University in Thailand, FTZ representatives conducted several workshops focusing on:
- Smallholder Food Security Measurement and Drivers: The Case of Zambia, Nigeria, Syria, Iraq, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan – Lessons Learned – Assoc. Prof. Miroslava Bavorová
- Commercialisation and Utilisation of Non-Timber Forest Products: Opportunities for Sustainable Livelihoods – Assoc. Prof. Vladimír Verner
- Promotion of FTZ study programs – Dr. Petra Chaloupková
- How to Design Your Scientific Poster – Dr. Olga Leuner
The new Double Degree program represents another milestone in the long-term collaboration between PSU and CZU, providing students with enhanced academic opportunities and strengthening international cooperation in agricultural development and economics.
