Erasmus+ Coffee at FTZ: Sharing experiences and discovering new opportunities

The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences at CZU Prague hosted an Erasmus+ Coffee meeting, bringing together students interested in international mobility with those who have already gained experience abroad.

The programme opened with an official welcome from the FTZ IRO and the Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural Sciences, University of Dschang, Cameroon, Professor Jean-Paul Assam Assam. Following this, a presentation was delivered by Beenzu Munkombwe Muzyamba, who introduced the activities of FTZ Student Ambassadors, their role in supporting international students, and opened up opportunities for future cooperation. The programme was moderated by FTZ Ph.D. student Faithful Finney Adubofour.

The main part of the event featured presentations by students participating in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) KA171 programme, offering first-hand insights into academic and everyday life at FTZ CZU from the perspective of different nationalities such as Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Moldova, Senegal or Thailand.

The event provided both inspiration and practical guidance – from choosing a destination to understanding what to expect from studying abroad and how to overcome challenging situations. The faculty coordinator of Erasmus+ KA171 Simona Tomanová was helpful in that aspect. The informal coffee discussion created space for open conversations and experience sharing among participants. The discussions also involved Jana Mandíková on behalf of Student Ambassadors and Zora Fídlerová as faculty coordinator of Erasmus+ KA131 mobility.

Erasmus+ Coffee once again highlighted the importance of international mobility as an integral part of studying at FTZ and a key opportunity for both academic and personal development.
