On Friday, September 5, 2025, the Czech University of Life Sciences (CZU) will host its traditional Harvest Festival at the CZU Estates in Lány. From 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., visitors can look forward to a festive celebration marking the end of the harvest season, with demonstrations of agricultural machinery and farm animals, presentations of university faculties, CZU Forests, and the university’s winery. The event will also feature sales of university products, refreshments, activities for children, and an evening concert with live music. Admission is free.
Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences at the Harvest Festival
The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ) has prepared an engaging program that combines education, science, and entertainment. The FTZ Botanical Garden will highlight the power of medicinal plants and host a workshop on “Herbal Teas for Blood Sugar Balance.” Under the guidance of our experts, participants will have the opportunity to create their own herbal tea blend supporting healthy sugar metabolism and take it home in a practical package. Visitors can also take part in a fun plant quiz and test their knowledge of tropical and subtropical crops cultivated in the garden.
The Antelope Conservation Society will introduce its activities dedicated to the protection of antelopes. Families and children will enjoy assembling a life-size antelope puzzle while learning about the society’s work.
Another highlight will be the guided tours of the stables and paddocks, where visitors can meet antelopes and llamas. The tours, accompanied by expert commentary, will take place three times during the afternoon – at 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m.
The CZU Harvest Festival in Lány is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a day outdoors, discover the activities of the university, and take part in a varied program for all ages.
