New FTZ Newsletter: Highlights from the First Half of 2026

The first half of 2026 has been marked by important achievements, new research initiatives, international collaborations, and inspiring stories from across the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences at CZU Prague. Our latest FTZ Newsletter offers a comprehensive overview of the faculty's key activities and accomplishments over the past six months.

This edition features major milestones, including the introduction of new department names, graduation ceremonies, outreach activities for secondary school students, the establishment of Ecocentre Loska and the Ecocentre of our Botanical Garden, and the continued development of lifelong learning opportunities. It also highlights the achievements of our researchers, students, and staff at international conferences, research projects, competitions, and field activities around the world.

Readers will discover stories from Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America, showcasing how FTZ researchers work together with local communities, universities, governments, and international organisations to address global challenges. From sustainable agriculture and food security to biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and rural development, these stories demonstrate our commitment to transforming scientific knowledge into practical solutions.

In his opening message, Dean Assoc. Prof. Hynek Roubík reflects on the faculty's progress and emphasises that FTZ's greatest strength lies in its people and their shared commitment to excellence, collaboration, and meaningful impact. Together, they continue to shape a modern, internationally connected faculty dedicated to creating a more sustainable and resilient future.

We hope you enjoy reading this edition.
