On 7 May 2026, the 8th round of the Student Competition in Evaluation took place, focusing on developing students’ practical skills in project evaluation. The competition featured three teams—one from the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTA) at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and two teams from the Faculty of Science, Charles University.
Participants were given a case study on the evaluation of the project “AgriConnect Cambodia: Digital Skills & Research for the Future (AgriConnect)”. Within 4 hours, each team was required to design a comprehensive evaluation proposal, including the methodology, indicators, and data collection approaches. They then presented their proposals in person at Charles University, followed by discussions with representatives of the Czech Evaluation Society.
An independent evaluation committee assessed the submitted proposals, highlighting the high quality of work, innovative approaches, and the teams’ ability to perform under time pressure. The winning team consisted of FTA students: Eke Francis Ikechukwu, Vargas Moreira Maria Victoria, Castro Martinez Paula Andrea, and Fahmy Anna Mohamed Refaat Ahmed.
All participants deserve great recognition for their dedication and outstanding performance. We warmly congratulate the winning team on their excellent achievement!
The competition was held as part of the course Project Monitoring and Evaluation, led by Ing. Petra Chaloupková, Ph.D. It represents an important platform for linking theoretical knowledge with practical skills in the evaluation of development projects.
