Please find attached the Call for Papers of the annual conference organised by the Africa Platform of Ghent University Association: "Knowledge production, research ethics and authorship in African contexts". In 2023 this international symposium will be co-organised by the University of the Western Cape in South Africa (UWC). The conference will also take place at UWC, more specifically on 13 & 14 November 2023, although online participation will be possible.We welcome paper submissions within any of these interdisciplinary subtopics:

• Good practices across disciplines
• Stakeholders beyond academia 
• Locations of knowledge production
• Knowledge production/ challenges faced in international research collaborations 
• The publication market: power, access, bias, predation and other challenges 
• Pluralizing knowledge production: challenges and rewards of decolonization in practice
• Silent voices from the field: about power and knowledge production in fieldwork
• Relinking education and freedom
• Bridging the genomic data gap in Africa: implications for global disease burdens
