The Vice-Dean for International Relations of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences Ing. Petra Chaloupková, Ph.D. together with the head of the international office Ing. Aneta Krémová from the Faculty of the Environment represented the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague at the International Education Conference NAFSA 2018. This conference took place in the last May week in Philadelphia, USA and was attended by nearly 10,000 representatives of universities and educational institutions from around the world. Most of the representatives were from universities in the USA, Canada, Korea, Japan or Brazil, with the largest universities in the European Universities from Spain and the UK. The Czech stand was organized by the Centre of International Cooperation in Education and the participants were representatives from 16 Czech universities, the Fulbright Foundation or the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
The main objective was to establish contacts between individual universities, especially in the field of exchange of students, or to strengthen existing cooperation. Universities also presented their Summer Schools or short-term courses offered to foreign students. Various thematic lectures, such as students' motivation to study abroad, aspects of student admission from the USA, China, or Africa, were also held during the conference. The opening lecture of NAFSA 2018 was held by Mrs. Laura Bush, former US lady, sharing her experience in education.
