The Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU Prague) is once again joining the European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW), a Europe-wide initiative highlighting activities that support sustainable development, responsible consumption, healthy lifestyles and environmental protection.
From 24 September to 8 October 2026, students, CZU employees and the general public can take part in a variety of activities, including sports events, workshops, a clothing and household swap, and tastings of local and plant-based foods.
Explore tropical plants at the FTZ greenhouses
One of the events taking place as part of ESDW will be a guided tour of the greenhouses of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ), CZU Prague, on 8 October from 11:00 to 14:00.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a unique collection of tropical and subtropical useful plants and learn more about their importance for people, agriculture and the sustainable use of natural resources. The programme will also include a tasting and sale of chilli-based products.
Places are limited, so prior registration is required via the registration form.
What else is happening at CZU?
The ESDW programme at CZU also includes:
- Autumn SWAP at the CZU Canteen from 5 to 8 October,
- a Sustainable Brunch featuring local and plant-based food on 7 October,
- an online webinar on work-life balance on 7 October,
- and an information stand focused on employee benefits.
The European Sustainable Development Week is an opportunity to reflect on how sustainability is part of our everyday lives – from the way we eat and shop to how we use natural resources, take care of our health and interact with the environment.
