On 2 February 2017 took place a hand–over ceremony of the project “Enhancement of Technical Education in Cambodia“ in the King Norodom Sihamoni General and Technical High School. The project was financed by a unique debt resettlement agreement between the Czech Republic and the Royal Government of Cambodia.
The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Im Koch, State secretary of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia and Mrs. Dagmar Minaříková, CDA a.i. of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Phnompenh. Ceremony was also attended by all students and teachers of the school.
The project implemented by the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague focused on enhancement of technical education at the King Norodom Sihamoni General and Technical High School.
Main goals of the project were improvement of the teaching quality in technical study programmes, establishment of facilities for practical teaching and demonstration, ensuring partial self-sufficiency of the school with water and electricity resources and raised awareness about technical education in the Kampong Chhang province.
In the school campus, farm has been established with focus on crop production and animal breeding part (pigs, poultry, bees, fish). Products of the farm serve to ensure its sustainability (feeding production), the rest is sold directly or processed in the processing centre.
