Basic Information

Erasmus+ is a European Union programme supporting education, training, youth and sport across Europe.

For students of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ), Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU Prague), Erasmus+ offers the opportunity to undertake short-term study stays or traineeships in the following countries:

EU countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.

EEA countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway
Turkey
Serbia
North Macedonia

Students may receive financial support for up to 12 months in each study cycle (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral).
Repeated mobilities during one study cycle are possible within the 12-month limit.

How to Apply

The application for a study stay is available from December 2025 in the UIS:

Application Deadlines

Round	Period
1st round	December – February (for winter and summer semester of the following academic year)
2nd round	August – September (summer semester only)

Note: Current deadlines are specified directly in the application in UIS.

Required Documents for Application

CV in structured Europass format
Motivation letter:

in English,
in the language of instruction at the host university

Students may apply to one foreign university (+ one alternative choice).

Language requirements and the course offer can be found on the website of the respective university.

Who Can Apply

Students enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s programme (from the 2nd year), Master’s or Doctoral programme in any form of study at FTZ CZU Prague (for the entire duration of the stay abroad).

Students who have already completed an Erasmus+ mobility may apply again, provided the total support within one study cycle does not exceed 12 months.

Selection Procedure

The selection process includes an interview:

in the language of instruction,
at most universities also in the language of the host country.

Interviews for the first round take place in February of the current academic year. Invitations with the exact date and time will be sent to registered applicants.

Please bring to the interview:

Transcript of Records (from UIS)
Proof of language proficiency (international certificate or state exam preferred; if not available, the CZU Language Department can issue a confirmation).
For studies in English, a minimum level of B2 is required.
Certificate requirements may vary – please check the website of the receiving university.
Supervisor’s consent (form available on the FTZ website, section Documents; may be replaced by an email from the supervisor).

Note: Language confirmation and supervisor’s consent may be submitted later.

Before Departure

After Nomination

Once nominated, the partner university will contact you with admission requirements. Typical documents include:

Application Form of the partner university
Transcript of Records (request from the Study Department)
Language certificate (if required by the host institution)

Acceptance Letter

After approval of your application documents, you will usually receive further instructions in the form of an Acceptance Email or Acceptance Letter, including your personal details and exact mobility dates (including welcome days/weeks or language courses). The Acceptance Letter can be used for visa applications.

Please forward the Acceptance Letter/email to the faculty coordinator at: fidlerova@ftz.czu.cz.

Request for Mobility Registration

By submitting a Request for Mobility Registration, you inform the Study Department of your intention to study abroad, which is conditional upon fulfilling your academic obligations. Furthermore, the request will be confirmed by the FTZ OMV Coordinator once most Erasmus documents have been completed. After that, the departure will be entered into UIS and you may apply for the Participant Agreement.

Process for submitting the Request for Mobility Registration (UIS > Contact Centre > International Office > Request for Mobility Registration).

You must attach the document Request for Courses Recognition and for Modification of Study Plan due to the ERASMUS+ Study Stay (see the Documents section). In this document, you specify how the courses completed abroad will be recognized after your return.

Note: The Request for Mobility Registration is not the same as the Individual Study Plan (ISP). If needed, arrange the ISP due to your mobility individually with your study officer.

Learning Agreement – Before the Mobility

All students must complete a Learning Agreement. At CZU Prague, we use the Online Learning Agreement (OLA). Some universities may require their own version (PDF or internal system), which is also accepted.

Bank Account

Your bank account must be entered in UIS:

Student Portal › My Study › My palcements abroad › Bank Details for Study Mobility

You must provide:

Bank name and full address of the branch (for Revolut: Lithuania),
Account number and currency (CZK or EUR recommended),
Specification: “for payment of mobility grants”,
Validity for the entire duration of the stay and until final documentation is completed.

Revolut accounts may be used if IBAN is provided.

Student Declaration

This document confirms whether you have previously completed an Erasmus+ mobility. Submit the signed printed version to the central International Relations Office (may be submitted together with the Participant Agreement).

Insurance

Before departure, you must arrange travel insurance covering:

medical expenses,
liability insurance,
accident insurance,
repatriation.

ERGO insurance is strongly recommended as it meets all requirements. Further details are available on the CZU website (Travel Insurance for Study Stays).

During the Stay

If you need to change your study plan:

Select a new course within 2 weeks of the start of studies.
Download the form “Changes to the original Request for a modification of study plan due to the ERASMUS+ Study Stay” (FTZ website – Documents section).
Obtain approval from course/programme guarantors (via email or signature).
Update the changes in OLA/LA under “During the Mobility”.

Without the approved Changes form submitted to the International Relations Office, modifications in OLA cannot be confirmed.

After the Stay

Learning Agreement t– After the Mobility (Confirmation of Stay)

The final section confirms the duration of your stay. It must be completed and signed by the host university before your return and submitted within 14 days after the end of your mobility.

If dates differ from those in the Participant Agreement, financial adjustments may apply.

Final Report

After your mobility ends, you will receive an automatic email with a link to complete the online Final Report.

Transcript of Records

Request your host coordinator to send your Transcript of Records directly to:

outgoing@czu.cz

Courses in the Transcript of Records must correspond to your Learning Agreement, including any approved changes.

Recognition of Courses

After receiving the Transcript of Records and Confirmation of Stay:

Download the “Certificate of Study Abroad” form from the FTZ website.
Send the completed certificate electronically to fidlerova@ftz.czu.cz together with scans of ToR and CoS.
After confirmation by the FTZ International Relations Office, submit the document and a copy of ToR to the Study Department.

Courses listed in the Transcript of Records must match your approved OLA.

How to fill out the document Request for courses recognition

Table 1, indicate:

Name of the course at the foreign university

Number of credits

Code and name of the corresponding course at the FTZ (for optional courses, write "N/A Optional Course")

ECTS credits (for equivalent at the FTZ, number of credits according to the FTZ, for optional courses according to the foreign institution)

The table serves as a "mirror" - foreign courses on the left, their equivalents on the right.

Table 2 - Courses cannot be studied abroad

Indicate the courses of the study plan that cannot be completed abroad.

These courses are not part of the LA/OLA.

Changes to the study plan

If the changes require adjustment, request an Individual Study Plan (ISP).

Recognition “Course for Course”

The course completed abroad must correspond at least 60% to the FTZ syllabus.

Procedure:

Submit the completed request form and syllabi to the course guarantor.
The guarantor confirms approval or rejection with signature.

Recognition as Elective Course

For courses without a direct equivalent at FTZ:

Submit the completed request form and syllabi to the programme guarantor.
The guarantor confirms approval or rejection with signature.
