International Credit Mobility: cooperation between Czech Republic and Vietnam

The main objective of the project is to support the mobilities of students and teaching staff among the project‘ partners from the Czech Republic and Vietnam. The main project partners are the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) together with the Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF).

Mobilities:

The proposed mobility is mainly focused on the mobility of 2 students (master students for 1 semester) and 1 PhD students (3 months) from HUAF to CZU.

Moreover, 1 PhD student (3 months) from CZU to HUAF.

In addition, the proposed mobility aims to 5 teachers, specifically 3 teachers (each for 10 days) from HUAF to CZU and 2 teachers from CZU to HUAF (each for 10 days).

Students from HUAF (2+1) will have the opportunity to study at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (CZU) in English to gain 30 ETCS credits per semester for successfully completed selected subjects.

Background:

CZU has cooperated with HUAF through the implementation of several projects of ODA CR since 2006, e.g. Renewable energy sources for rural areas in Thua Thie Hue province (donor: Czech Development Agency, No. 13/2011/02- 13/2012/02 -13/2013/01); Sustainable development of Phong My Commune (donor: Ministry of Agriculture CR, No. MZe/B/8; Support of research and science capacities of academic staff and students of HUAF, Vietnam (donor: Czech Development Agency). Currently, HUAF is also a partner in Erasmus Mundus project ALFABET coordinated by CZU. The main contribution of above mentioned project of cooperation is establishment of joint Biogas Research Team, several joint scientific publications (e.g. Roubík et al., 2018. Current approach to manure management for small-scale Southeast Asian farmers. Renewable Energy https://doi.org/10.1016/j.renene.2017.08.068 , Roubík et al., 2018. Biogas Quality across Small-Scale Biogas Plants. Energies 10.3390/en11071794), knowledge of cultural differences between CR and Vietnam at general level as well as in university education and research which helps in setting conditions for future effective cooperation.

The mobility of students and staff between HUAF and CZU is seen as a tool enhancing already existing cooperation, especially in the field of organic waste management. During the cooperation and direct visit of CZU experts at HUAF it has been recognised that Exchange of students and academic and research staff plays the key role for development of education and administration process at HUAF (in harmonisation of ECTS and ESG in quality assurance of teaching and research).
