Can science be tasted? Yes, it can! Join us at the Night of Science on 25 September at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, CZU Prague, and discover the results of the SMART Game project through traditional South African meat products.
The SMART Game research team, led by doc. Tersia Kokošková, Ph.D., will introduce visitors to research into game farming and utilisation at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences – from production and processing to sharing knowledge and putting research into practice.
Meet the researcher behind SMART Game
Doc. Tersia Kokošková, Ph.D. is the Principal Investigator of the SMART Game project. Her research brings together animal science, meat quality and food technology with the question of how game can be responsibly and sustainably utilised.
As part of the project, the research team focuses on the common eland as a model species for sustainable game meat production. The aim is to build scientific knowledge that can help us better understand meat quality, processing methods and the development of high-quality food products.

At the Night of Science, research will not just be something you hear about. You will be able to taste the results of our research for yourself. The SMART Game team will present traditional South African meat products and explain the research behind them.
Visitors will learn more about the responsible utilisation of game as a source of quality food and about the role of science in developing and processing high-value food products.
And if you like what you taste, you will also be able to buy our products at the venue – while stocks last.
