Our alumna Lenka Poliaková has been appointed Director of Prague Zoo. She returns with extensive experience – previously coordinating in situ conservation projects, including the reintroduction of Przewalski’s horses to Mongolia and the “Wandering Bus” project supporting lowland gorilla conservation in Cameroon.
Lenka graduated in Wildlife Management from the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague.
She recalls her studies mainly through the people and atmosphere:
“We all knew each other – students and teachers alike. It was a close and inspiring environment.”
Her international journey started early, thanks to Erasmus mobility already in her second year. She also gained her first hands-on experience through cooperation with Antelope Conservation.
“It was my first chance to apply what I studied in practice. I loved being part of something I truly cared about.”
We wish her every success, inspiration, and determination in leading one of the world’s most respected zoological gardens.
