Invitation to the Open Day at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ)

The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences warmly invites you to the last Open Day of this academic year. Are you interested in nature conservation, sustainable agriculture, development cooperation, or research not only in the tropics? Come and experience the atmosphere of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences. We will introduce our study programmes, research teams and their projects, as well as authentic experiences shared by our students and alumni. You can look forward to inspiring lectures, discussions, and plenty of space for your questions.

Programme of the Day:

9:30 Studying at FTZ in a Nutshell Introduction to our study programmes, admission process, international mobility opportunities, internships and career prospects.

10:00–10:45 Amazon through the Eyes of an FTZ Graduate: Ethnobotany, Traditional Cultures and Field Experience (Department of Crop Science and Agroforestry) A story from field research in Latin America and an insight into how studying at FTZ opens doors to the world.

11:00–11:45 Protecting the World’s Largest Antelope: 25 Years of Research and Conservation at FTZ (Department of Wildlife and Animal Sciences) A flagship FTZ project combining long-term research and international cooperation with real impact on wildlife conservation.

12:00–14:00 FTZ LIVE – Meet Our Students and Academic Staff An informal space for your questions, sharing experiences and individual consultations about studying and applying.

Throughout the Day (9:00–15:00)

  • Information about studying directly from students and lecturers
  • Practical information on admissions, studies, mobility programmes, scholarships and accommodation
  • Research team presentations in the lobby
  • Distribution of promotional materials

Botanical Garden of FTZ

The programme will also include our traditional guided tours of the Botanical Garden, taking place every full hour from 10:00 to 14:00.

Come and discover a degree focused on sustainable agriculture, conservation of nature and endangered species, rural development and today’s global challenges.
