Are you considering Ph.D. studies at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, CZU in Prague? The third admission round for the 2025/2026 academic year is still open!
This round is primarily intended for applicants who are already residing in the Czech Republic or EU citizens/residents. Due to time constraints, it is not possible for non-EU applicants to obtain a long-term student visa in time for the start of the academic year. Furthermore, dormitory capacities are usually full by this time, and we are unable to provide confirmation of accommodation for visa purposes.
Available positions in study programs:
- Tropical Agrobiology and Bioresource Management (TABM): 1 position – full-time (self-funded), 1 position – part-time
- Sustainable Rural Development (SRD): 8 positions – full-time (self-funded), 3 positions – part-time
- Agriculture in Tropics and Subtropics (ATS – three-year self-funded program): 10 positions – part-time
About the study programs:
TABM is a unique transdisciplinary program combining biological, ecological, and engineering approaches tailored to tropical environments. The program spans from basic to applied research, often bridging traditional academic disciplines.
SRD focuses on rural technology and economics, renewable resources, food and biomass processing technologies, and environmental engineering, with interdisciplinary approaches suitable for international development projects.
ATS explores tropical and subtropical agricultural systems, including crop and livestock production, appropriate technologies, and socioeconomic aspects.
