Workshop Project management and HR AWARDS organised in Ukraine

FTZ representatives organized “Project Management Training - Preparation of the EU Projects and HR Awards” at the partner universities in Ukraine - Sumy National Agrarian University, Sumy State University, Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University as part of the project “Support for young university capacities in the field of quality of education and scientific and research activities in Ukraine”.

The first day of the training led by Petra Chaloupková, Ph.D. focused on the preparation of projects financed from EU grants. Firstly, the possibilities of Erasmus + grants funding and individual calls for project applications, which are currently announced, were presented. During the first part of the workshop, the conditions for projects under KA1: Credit Mobility and individual project application requirements were presented. A practical example was the project coordinated by the CZU Prague in cooperation with the SNAU and BTNAU in 2017-2019, and thanks to this project, 14 mobilities between partner universities were supported (more HERE). The second part of the workshop focused on the possibilities of financing grants under the category KA2: Capacity building projects. First, the requirements for this call, the conditions and terminology used in submitting these projects were presented. A practical example of this type of project, which CZU Prague coordinated in SE Asia, the SIMPLE project was then presented. The practical part of the workshop focused on the preparation of international projects. The participants were divided into 4 working groups and each group had to work out one of the project parts.

In the second part of the training, Ing. Olga Leuner, Ph.D. focused on the HR Award - Human Resources Strategy for Researchers. The aim of the training was to introduce participants to the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. Research institutions that decide to endorse and adopt the 40 principles of the Charter and the Code (the above-mentioned documents) will set up their internal work environment and the rules and procedures for recruiting new researchers in a way that is internationally comparable and regularly reviewed. Such institutions will receive the internationally recognized quality label HR AWARD. The process of obtaining HR AWARDS is a long-term process, as in addition to obtaining the HR AWARD label itself, it also includes regular ex-post assessments, nevertheless, it is necessary for being a solid member of the European Research Area. During the training, all the principles set out in the Charter and Code were presented together with the process how to prepare for HR AWARD.
