Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) Conference 2019

The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) in collaboration with the World Bank Group (Agriculture) organised a three-day conference dubbed “Small farms in transition: How to stimulate inclusive growth?” on 26th to 28th June 2019 Halle (Saale), Germany. Participants were mainly students, scholars, representatives of institutions and international organisations (e.g., FAO and the World Bank), policy makers and other stakeholders.

The conference/forum covered the following schematic areas: Small farm diversification, Farm structures and typologies, Smallholder strategies, Cooperatives, Technologies for small farms, Agricultural policies and farm resilience, Extension services and food security.

Samuel Ahado, as a member of the Cooperative Research Group had a presentation under cooperatives on the topic “Analysis of the economic performance of small farmers in post-Soviet Eastern Europe countries: case of Georgia and Moldova”
