The project aims to modernise agricultural education by introducing innovative curricula, developing modern scientific, research and demonstration facilities, strengthening publication activities, and expanding national and international cooperation among the agricultural faculties of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM). The overall goal is to increase the prestige and attractiveness of agricultural sciences, motivate students to pursue studies in this field, and support the transformation of agriculture in response to climate change.
The project focuses on strengthening scientific, research and educational activities at the partner university in Moldova through a range of targeted activities and outputs. These include support for the introduction of new study specialisations in Soil Improvement and Smart Agriculture, the transfer of Czech expertise in higher education management and climate change adaptation, and specialised teaching and expert stays of Czech academics in Moldova. The project also provides opportunities for UTM representatives to undertake study visits and internships in the Czech Republic.
A key component of the project is the development of modern teaching and research infrastructure, including demonstration plots and new laboratories. The project further supports cooperation in scientific research and academic publishing, as well as the organisation of Science Days, a Career Summer School, and outreach and promotional activities aimed at raising the profile of UTM and agricultural education.
Through these activities, the project contributes to the modernisation and internationalisation of agricultural education in Moldova and strengthens the capacity of the partner university to respond to the challenges and opportunities arising from climate change.
