The Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU Prague) has achieved a significant improvement in one of the world's most respected university rankings. In the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings, CZU Prague was ranked in the 731–740 band worldwide, moving up 30 places compared to last year's ranking of 761–770.
This result confirms the university’s strong international position as well as its standing among Czech higher education institutions. CZU Prague is ranked seventh nationally and is the only Czech university to improve its position compared to the previous year. It follows Charles University, Czech Technical University in Prague and Masaryk University among the country's leading universities.
The ranking highlights CZU Prague’s strong engagement in international research activities, its high proportion of international students, and its long-term commitment to sustainability.
“I am pleased that CZU Prague is the only Czech university that continues to move upward in the QS rankings. This assessment recognizes our international activities and the growing interest of international students in studying at our university. At the same time, we continue working to improve our performance across all evaluated categories,” said Michal Lošťák, Rector of CZU Prague.
Among the World's Leading Universities
This year’s ranking evaluated 1,500 universities from more than 104 countries worldwide. The top position was once again awarded to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, while Imperial College London and Stanford University shared second place.
The QS ranking is widely regarded as one of the most influential global university rankings and serves as an important source of information for prospective students, academics, and employers. Institutions are assessed based on indicators including academic reputation, employer reputation, research impact, international collaboration, and the proportion of international students and staff.
Strong Performance in Subject Rankings
In addition to the overall ranking, Quacquarelli Symonds publishes the QS World University Rankings by Subject, evaluating universities across individual academic disciplines.
CZU Prague continues to perform exceptionally well in these rankings. The university ranked 58th globally in Agriculture and Forestry and placed in the 251–300 band in Environmental Studies. These results reflect the university’s strong research performance and educational quality in fields that play a crucial role in addressing global sustainability challenges.
For the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, the ranking further confirms the value of international collaboration, high-quality research, and a diverse academic environment that attracts students and researchers from around the world.
