We warmly invite you to a lecture by Assoc. Prof. Karolína Brandlová on the topic “Sex, Gender, and Females in Zoology”, which will offer an inspiring perspective on sex, gender, and female behavior in the animal world – and beyond. The lecture will take place on October 16 at 3:30 PM in the Aula of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, and will be held in English.
How can we biologically define a female? At first glance, it may seem like a simple question, but the answers are surprisingly complex. During the lecture, we will explore mate choice strategies, behavioral ecology, and the ways in which animal stories shape our understanding of sex and the roles of females in nature.
A zoological perspective on sex and gender, set against the backdrop of contemporary society, can bring unexpected connections – between biology, behavior, and cultural narratives.
Join the discussion on how females shape not only the animal world… but also our perception of it.
