Representatives from FTZ took part in the ELLS 2025 General Assembly and Forum, held in Sweden from 13–15 November. Colleagues from the International Office and the Study Administration Office attended a variety of lectures and seminars focused on improving services for students, exchanging experiences, and strengthening collaboration across the Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) network. 

In mid-November, representatives of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences travelled to Southeast Asia to present the faculty’s study programmes and research activities at two major education fairs – first in Cambodia, then in Thailand. The trip to Phnom Penh and Bangkok offered not only the opportunity to meet prospective students, but also to strengthen long-term partnerships, reconnect with alumni, and share expertise in a region where sustainable agriculture, natural resource protection and development remain key priorities.

In September 2025, Mohan Krishna Chowdry Avilineni successfully defended his thesis with Excellence and Honours at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, becoming the very first graduate of the Erasmus Mundus Global Forestry (GLOFOR) programme at CZU Prague. During his studies, he completed company internships, was a research member of the EU Horizon Invest4Nature project and presented his Nepal field school research at the Tropentag 2025 conference in Bonn, gaining valuable international experience across several European universities. Today, he has already started his professional journey as a Carbon Project Manager in Prague. In this interview, he shares his study experience, career path, and advice for future GLOFOR students.

The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ), Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU), recently had the honor of welcoming three colleagues from Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand, within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility project coordinated by Ing. Petra Chaloupková, Ph.D., dr. h.c., Vice-Dean for International Relations.

The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ), Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, warmly invites prospective students, parents and the general public to its Open Day, held on Friday, 21 November 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In June, the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ), Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, launched the summer photo challenge “On the Road to Knowledge”, aiming to showcase the diverse range of activities carried out under the FTZ banner.

On 22 October 2025, a ceremony at the National Assembly of Senegal in Dakar marked 25 years of cooperation between Senegal and the Czech Republic in nature conservation and biodiversity protection. The event, organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Dakar, celebrated long-term achievements in protecting the Western Derby eland (Tragelaphus derbianus derbianus) – the world’s largest antelope and a symbol of the Senegalese savannah.

At the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, we have our very own running club – Jungle Runners – bringing together students, academics, and staff who share a passion for running. We meet every Wednesday at 12:00 for joint training sessions and take part in selected running competitions.
