What is it like to study at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences through the eyes of an international student? Alexandru Iuti? from the Technical University of Moldova (UTM), a student of Agribusiness and Rural Development, spent the summer semester at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences,

Pangolins are among the most heavily trafficked mammals in the world. They are hunted primarily for their scales, which are used in traditional medicine, and for their meat, sold as bushmeat. Although all eight pangolin species are protected and international trade in them is prohibited, illegal trafficking continues on a large scale and remains one of the greatest threats to their survival.

When Napoleon invaded Egypt at the end of the 18th century, French military physicians noticed an unusual phenomenon. Many local men—and later some French soldiers—had blood in their urine. Egypt soon became known among European physicians as "the land of menstruating men."

In June, Prague hosted the Fairtrade Specialty Coffee Dialogue, an international event bringing together Fairtrade specialty coffee producers from Latin America, coffee professionals, representatives of the entire supply chain, and the academic community. The dialogue provided a platform to discuss coffee quality, fair trade, and the future of sustainable coffee production.

As part of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) 2023 project, the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague had the honour of welcoming a distinguished delegation from its long-standing partner universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ) alumnus Raksmey Phoeurk is demonstrating how education, international collaboration, and research can contribute to addressing real-world challenges. A graduate of the International Development and Agricultural Economics (IDAE) master's programme in 2017, 

After a period dedicated to family care, doc. Tersia Kokošková, Ph.D., is returning to the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences at CZU Prague with support from the Returns to CZU programme. Her three-year project, SMART Game – Sustainable Meat Science And Technology for Game Meat, will focus on sustainable production and processing of common eland meat, a promising alternative farming species for sustainable animal production systems.
